Leadership

  • Brian Ide: FOUNDER/PRESIDENT

Having grown up in Iowa, Brian Ide was very fortunate to have access to great public education. He has now lived in Los Angeles for 13 years and was motivated to create ReDistribute under his Meriwether Productions umbrella when he witnessed the incredible challenges that young people in urban and rural areas face. His challenge was to create a business model that was sustainable, financially beneficial to those involved and also significantly beneficial to people with limited resources. The grassroots model of ReDistribute accomplishes this. By having moviegoers go to movies like they always do, he expects to generate tens of millions of dollars for schools. Brian has worked in many facets of the entertainment industry for 17 years. He began in the local theater in Iowa, and by the age of 22, Brian found himself commuting several hours each day to volunteer on film and commercial shoots. Years later, Brian formed Meriwether Productions, whose mission is to tell stories that inspire people's lives. Now, nine years later, Brian has produced and directed a variety of successful, compelling projects, including his recent award-winning feature film, “Clear Lake, WI.” In addition to filming throughout the U.S., he has helmed projects in Jerusalem, Germany and Honduras.
